El proyecto surge por el interés de conocer el impacto que tiene el eje profesionalizante de la Licenciatura en Ingeniería Civil en los alumnos que realizan sus prácticas profesionales, ya que se tienen registros de opinión de empresas ubicadas en distintas zonas del país, donde mencionan que actualmente los ingenieros civiles egresan carentes de distintas competencias, conocimientos, habilidades y destrezas indispensables para llevar a cabo las distintas tareas que demanda el sector público y privado en el ramo de las vías terrestres.
El proyecto busca hacer una revisión del contenido curricular actual que aplica para los alumnos de Ingeniería Civil de la UMQ y contrastarlo con lo que se espera de los alumnos cuando realizan sus prácticas profesionales.
Por otro lado, investigar cuáles han sido las experiencias de los alumnos que han realizado sus prácticas profesionales y evaluar qué tan eficientes han sido para fortalecer al alumno en su formación profesional
Esta investigación surge como resultado de un cúmulo de experiencias recopiladas por el autor que reflejan la inconformidad de los empleadores, ya que no se encuentran satisfechos con el perfil de egreso de los ingenieros civiles para llevar a cabo determinadas tareas.
El autor tiene la fortuna de haber sido alumno de la carrera de Ingeniería Civil en la UMQ en la generación 2005 – 2009, obtener el título de Ingeniero en el 2010 por medio de proyecto de tesis, desempeñarse como asistente de investigador en el Instituto Mexicano del Transporte a partir del 2011 a la fecha [centro de investigación de orden Federal al servicio de la SCT (Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes)] y regresar a la UMQ como docente en el 2013.
